✅ Who can apply?
➤Any Indian citizen who is 18 years of age or above.
➤For children (below 18 years) Minor Passport process is as follows.

                                       Step-by-Step Process (As of 2025)

1️⃣ Register online
➤Visit the website:
🔗 https://www.passportindia.gov.in

• Click on “New User Registration”
• Create an account with User ID, Password, Email and Mobile Number

2️⃣ Fill the Application Form

• Login and select “Apply for Fresh Passport” or “Re-Issue of Passport” option.
• Fill in the form with name, date of birth, address, personal details, emergency contact etc.
• Preview the form and submit.

3️⃣ Book an Appointment

• Select your nearest Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) or Post Office PSK.
• Select an available date and time.
• Pay application fee online (Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI).

4️⃣ What is the fee?

• Type Fee (Normal) Fee (Tatkal)
• Normal Passport (36 pages) ₹1,500 ₹3,500
• Minor Passport ₹1,000 ₹3,000

5️⃣ Go to PSK to get your documents verified

• Go to PSK on the day of appointment
• Carry the required documents
• Aadhar card, birth certificate, address proof, passport size photo (if required)
• Your photo, fingerprint, and signature will be taken

6️⃣ Police Verification

• After the PSK visit, police verification is done from the police station of your area.
• In this, they confirm your address.

7️⃣ Passport delivery

• The passport is made once the police verification is cleared.
• The passport is delivered to your address by India Post.
• Usually you get it within 7–15 working days (Tatkal) 1–3 days).

📌 List of required documents

• Aadhar Card
• Voter ID / Electricity Bill (for address)
• Birth Certificate (required for below 18 years)
• PAN Card (if any)
• Passport size photo (sometimes taken onsite)

✅ Special Features

• Police verification is done later in Tatkal Seva (depends on document clearance).
• Parents’ passport/ID is required for Minor (below 18 years).
• e-Passport facility has also been started (chip-based digital passport).
